Marvel Comics is an American comic book and media company that was first founded in 1939 as Timely Publications. After rebranding the company, it launched one of its first and most well-known series, "The Fantastic Four." Almost eight decades and many comic books and characters later, the company was sold to the Walt Disney company for $4 billion.

The comic book company is responsible for some of the world's most successful characters, most of whose stories have been adapted into a feature film. Some of the most popular characters include Wolverine, the Black Panther, Iron Man, the Hulk, Storm, and Gamora.
