About This Quiz

From geographical features to ways of life, no two things are the same across the different regions of the United States. Words are included, too! No matter where you live, there's certain to be a regional way of saying things that you've adopted into your vocabulary. After we hear the way you talk, we'll be able to figure out where you live by using each of your answers like a geolocator.

We do realize that it's entirely possible for you to have picked up words from other places. Whether you've traveled or binge-watched things filmed in different places, it's only human nature to adapt to the things you hear. Your words are as deeply rooted as your sense of belonging, but where do your words say that you've come to belong? Answer each question with the word or pronunciation you usually use, and we'll eliminate the places you are not until there's only the place that you are.

Put on your big person britches, trousers, pants or jeans, and answer as honestly as you can. You don't have to choose something because you think it's right; you should choose the option that you actually say. Then, we'll know the region where you live! Will we get it right, or will we need to get a new map?
